Gerrit H. Koerselman, 101, died December 20, 2006 at the Humboldt North Care Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. L.J. Hartley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in North Lawn Cemetery.

Gerrit H. Koerselman, the son of Henry and Kate (Roggen) Koerselman, was born on June 29, 1905 in Sioux Center, Iowa. He attended school in Sioux Center. Gerrit was united in marriage to Jenettena VanDersloat in 1931. She preceded him in death. On January 6, 1979, Gerrit married Gladys Davis in Rowan. The couple made their home in Clear Lake and later Clarion. Gerrit sold Watkins products for over 16 years and later was employed selling Blue Harvest Silos and farm equipment. He retired in 1982. Gerrit was a member of the United Methodist Church of Rowan, member of the Lions Club and volunteered as a fireman for several years. He loved fishing, playing cards and dancing. Gerrit resided at the Humboldt North Care Center for the last three years.

Gerrit is survived by his son Robert Koerselman of Mesa, AZ; his daughter Carol Bohrer of Locust Grove, VA; his son Richard Koerselman of New Bern, NC; his daughter-in-law Virginia Koerselman of Omaha; 13 grandchildren and many great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys in November 2006, his son Kenneth Koerselman and grandson Kenneth II; step daughter Delores Hill; his parents; his siblings, Alida, Arie, Willis, Clarence, Orville, Laverne and Gereldene. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
