Cora L. Prilipp, 91, of Renwick, passed away November 29, 2006 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Renwick with Lynn J. Noel officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Township Cemetery, Hardy. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. today (Friday) at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Mrs. Prilipp is survived by her son, Don and his wife, Sandy of Algona; daughter, Beverly Steffenson of Goldfield; daughter Shirley and her husband, Pat Griffin of Jefferson; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer in 1965; daughter Marilyn in 1958; infant great- granddaughter, Jaclyn Simpson; son-in-law, Carol Steffenson; and grandson Denny Prilipp; brothers, Lawrence and Clarence Hauck; twin brothers, Heinrich and Harold Hauck; sister, Esther Wood; and twin sisters, Gertrude Ernst, and Grace Hodges.

Cora Laura Hauck was born September 3, 1915 in Rutland Township, Humboldt County, Iowa to William and Mary (Genrich) Hauck. She attended North Airline School located just west of the farm where she grew up. On December 25, 1937, she was united in marriage to Elmer W. Prilipp. Cora was baptized, confirmed, and married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Livermore, where her parents were charter members. To this union were born son Donald, and daughters, Beverly, Marilyn, and Shirley. Cora and Elmer made their home in Renwick, Iowa.

Cora was a homemaker for many years, Boone Valley School cook for ten years and was custodian at St. Paul Lutheran Church and Renwick Baptist Church. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother in Renwick, Asst. Jr. Mission Band leader of the church, and member of the Ladies Aid and Ruth Circle of St. Paul Lutheran Church. For many years she helped make quilts with church friends. She was also a member of the Literary Guild Club and she enjoyed many bus trips with the Heritage Club. Cora loved to bake cookies, pies, and rolls which family and friends enjoyed. An annual highlight for Cora was when her family all gathered at Lake Okoboji at Don and Sandy’s lake home to celebrate her birthday. She loved her garden, flowers, and time spent with family and friends. Cora lived in her home in Renwick until May 2000 when she moved to an apartment in Goldfield. In 2002 she moved to the Humboldt Care Center.
