Buzz “Sam” E. Stansberry, 56, of Fort Dodge, died Jan. 6, 2007, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion. The visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. He’ll be laid to rest on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., with full military honors, in the Catholic Cemetery in Clarion, beside his dearly departed wife JoAnn.

Buzz is survived by his four daughters and grandchildren, Lori Mentzer (Hailey Jo); Christine Stansberry (Tyler and Tristan); Tonya and her husband Chris Collins; Samanatha and her husband Jesse Banse (Max and Galaxy); his brothers and sisters, Elena Fairman and her sons Bob (Misty) Fairman; Jason Ruffridge and his children Natalie and Olin; Forest and Jesse Spidle; Harlan Waddell; David and Anita Stansberry and their daughters, Felicia, Tiffanie, MacKenzie; Karla (Don) Forbes and their daughters, Nicole and Dorothy; Jim Loux, Marcy (Kevin) Powell and their son and daughter Jarrod and Katie; John (Janet) Loux and their sons, Joseph, Samuel, Kevin and Johnathon; and Tammy Eivins and her sons and daughter Anthony, Austin and Ariel. He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, his mother Phyllis, his dad Harold Waddell and his father Samuel Earl Stansberry Jr.

Buzz “Sam” E. Stansberry was born Dec. 16, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. He moved to Clarion at a young age and graduated from Clarion High School in 1969. He served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam and later in the National Guard. Following his discharge, Buzz returned to Clarion where he worked as a laborer for different companies and during this time made many good friends. On Aug. 10, 1973, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Peterson in Clarion. Buzz will be known for the love he had for his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and auto racing. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family in care of Jim Loux or Elena Fairman.
