Loretta M. Steffens, 88, formerly of Rowan, died on Saturday, March 27, 2004, at the Churchill Hospital in Fallon, Nevada. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 30, at the Smith Funeral Home, with interment at the Fallon Cemetery.

Loretta was born on March 24, 1916 in Rowan, the daughter of William and Lottie Rowen Bingham. She was a retired postmaster and had lived in Fallon since 1981. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex; and grandson, Anthony Berns. Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis (John) Serpa of Fallon and Connie (Bob) Berns of Belmond; grandchildren, Shari (Doyle) Nicholson, Ilene (Bruce) Jonas, Tamara Kent (Chris) Dufresne, all of Nevada and Terrence (Lenay) Wesenberg of Texas; and seven great-grandchildren.
