Cleo M. Miller, 97, formerly of Rowan, died on Thursday, August 21, 2003, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 23, at the United Church of Rowan, with burial at the North Lawn Memorial Garden near Iowa Falls.

Cleo Marguerite, the daughter of William and Nettie Walker Duffy, was born on July 2, 1906, on a farm near Rowan. She graduated from the Rowan Consolidated Schools. She taught country school for six years. She married Virgil Miller on June 4, 1930 and they farmed. After Virgil's death in 1960, Cleo worked in Fairbault, Minnesota. She returned to Rowan to retire.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John; daughter, Marilyn Ziesman; and sisters, Susan Hammond and Mildred Ketchum. She is survived by her sons, Donald (Sylvia) Miller of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Marlin (Delores) of Coalinga, California; daughter, Kathy (Del) Muhlenbruch of Dows; sisters, Dolly Barnes of Long Lane, Missouri and Betty (Don) Severson of Jewell; and brother, Robert (Wilma) Duffy of Iowa Falls.
