Anna Schnell Draves, 79, of Madrid, formerly of Rowan, died on Sunday, August 10, 2003, at the Madrid Health Care Center. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 13, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church west of Rowan, with burial in the Graceland Cemetery near Rowan.
Anna, the daughter of G. Henry and Kathryn Margaret Schoenemann Schnell, was born on February 7, 1924 in Minatare, Nebraska. She graduated from the Scottsbluff High School. On February 3, 1945, she married Anton Draves in Oakland, California. Following Anton's discharge from the service, they returned to the Williams area where they farmed. The couple later moved to Webster City and then retired to Rowan in 1977. Anna moved to the Madrid Care Center in June of 2001.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; ten sisters; and two brothers. Anna is survived by her daughters, Pauline (Rex) Hall of Madrid, Thelma (Darwin) Adams of Thompson and Lorraine (Steve) Bates of Sigourney; grandsons, Shane (Lorell) Bailey of Rowan, Darrin (Tricia) Adams of Emmetsburg, Devere Adams of Thomson and Kyle Bates of Sigourney; and three sisters, Molly Wamboldt of Nebraska, Clara Drake of Utah and Pauline Siembab of California.
