Robert C. "Bob" Provorse, 73, died on Friday, January 24, 2003, at his home in Sioux City. Burial was on Friday, January 31, 2003, at the St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, rural Belmond. Bob was born on April 7, 1929 in Belgrade, Nebraska, the son of Robert and Mary (Zaruba) Provorse. He was raised in Columbus, Nebraska. Bob married Avis Toftey of Kanawha on June 5, 1954. They moved to Sioux City in 1965, when he began to teach and coach. Survivors include his wife; 4 sons; 6 grandchildren; 1 brother; two sisters-in-law, Donna Toftey of Belmond and Della Toftey of Kanawha; and nephew, Rodney Toftey of Kanawha.
