Agnes Robbins, 97, died on Saturday, January 4, 2003. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Belmond, with Father David Beckman and Deacon Nick Schmit officiating. Burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery. Music was provided by Ann Shriver, organist and Rose Speth, Cantor. Lector was Ken Robbins. Eucharistic ministers were Mary Ann Spitler and Regina Lamoureux. Alter servers were James Robbins and Michael Just. Robert and Marian Studebaker were gift bearers and Dave Robbins and Art Lamoureux were ushers. Casket bearers were, Jim Swenson, Terry Anderson, Vince McDermott, Tom Stevens, Larry Robbins, Larry Flanagan and Harold McLure.

Agnes Adeline Fuller, the daughter of Sumner and Katie (Monaghan) Fuller was born on May 26, 1905, on her parent's farm near Goodell. She attended rural schools and graduated from the Goodell High School in 1922. She attended Ellsworth Community College and later graduated from the Mason City Junior College. She received a BS degree from Drake University. She taught for a number of years in the Pleasant Township #1 rural school. She also taught at Garner, Goodell and Belmond area schools. Her career spanned many generations. Agnes married Carl Daniel Robbins on June 25, 1929, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Goodell. They had one son, Merle. They made their home in Goodell until 1944 when they moved to Belmond. Agnes and Carl enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. They were both active members in the Catholic Church. Agnes was a member of St. Francis Xavier, the Catholic Daughters, Rosary Society, and a Director of Religious Education. She also belonged to the Belmond Library Board for many years and was a member of the Goodell Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bingo. Agnes lived on her own after her husband, Carl died in 1985 and become a resident of the Belmond Health Care Center in December of 1996.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Bev Robbins; sisters, Winnifred and her husband, Charles Studebaker, Wava Fuller, Sofdrania and her husband, Francis McNulty, Mildred and her husband, Lee Robbins; brothers, Marsellus and his wife, Emma Fuller, Sumner and his wife, Carrie Fuller; and brother-in-law, Everett Bussa. Survivors include her son, Merle of Belmond; his son, Mike (Kathy) Robbins and their children, Jaymeson and Kellie, all of Toledo, Iowa; sister, Margaret Bussa, Hutchins, Florida.
