Darlene Marie Mallow, 59, died on Saturday, January 11, 2003. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 15, at the United Methodist Church in Belmond, with Pastor Paddy Druhl officiating and Julie Harms, eulogist. Interment was in the Belmond Cemetery.

Darlene Marie Sturm was born on February 16, 1943, in Belmond to Albert G. and Nellie M. Robertson Sturm. She graduated from the Belmond High School in 1963. On January 3, 1964, she was married to Dean Edwin Mallow. They lived in the north central Iowa area. They divorced in 1971. Darlene and her husband, Roger lived in Hampton and most recently in Alexander. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Roger of Alexander; daughter, Susan (Sean) Fogarty of Rowan; four sons, Edwin of Rowan, Roger of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Mark of Waterloo, Tony Mumford of Alexander; sister, Margie Sturm of Belmond; four brothers, Albert Lee of Geneva, Harvey, Sr., of Belmond, Ardell of Humboldt, and Roy of Belmond.
