Mona Jean Kaiser, 72, of Belmond, died Thursday (Aug. 29, 1996) at her home in the company of family. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with Father Jack Paisley and Deacon Nick Schmit officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Francis Cemetery with private family services. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Tenold
Funeral Home in Belmond and one hour prior to service at the church. A Rosary will be held at 2:30 p.m. and Scripture service at 7 p.m.

Mona Jean (Caron) Kaiser, the daughter of Levi and Blanch (Gregoire)Caron, was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Green Valley, Minn. She was united in marriage to Joseph H. Kaiser on June 10, 1947, in Green Valley, Minn., and they farmed for 40 years in the Fulda, Minn., area. They moved from the farm to Belmond in September of 1993. Mona worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Maple Lawn Nursing Home for 25 years, and also with Hospice. She enjoyed fishing, loved spending time cooking, and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and her friends. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Rosary Society and member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Joe, of Belmond; daughters, the Rev. Carol Kaiser of Des Moines; Mary Ann Lohse and her husband, Larry, of Belmond, and Joyce David of Slayton, Minn.; sons, Donald Kaiser and his wife, Patricia, of No. Mankato, Minn., and the Rev. Richard Kaiser and his wife, Beth, of Des Moines; grandchildren, JoAnn Lohse, Heidi and Heather Kaiser, Joshua and Jonathan Kaiser and Marty Davis; brothers, Leroy Caron of Perham, Minn.; Merlyn Caron of Tracy, Minn., and Harold Caron of Edina, Minn.; and sisters, Donna Boerboom of Marshall, Minn.; Yvonne Tillemans of Marshall, Minn., and Mary Jo Szarzynski of Edina, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Louis.
