Beverly Pals, 78, died March 23, 2006. Memorial services will be held Saturday April 1 at 1:30 p.m. at Dugger Ewing Funeral Home in Belmond. Pastor Donna Buckman will officiate, and burial will take place in the Belmond Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from noon until service time on Saturday.

Beverly Janet Thorbrogger was born in Chicago on November 14, 1927. Her parents were Frode Hans and Effie Julia (Madsen) Thorbrogger. She married Peter Hans Pals on October 25, 1952 in Clarion. For more than 50 years she treasured her friendships in Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed her flower garden, traveling, reading, crossword puzzles and card games. She also enjoyed quiz games and was a Jeopardy whiz.

She was preceded in death by her husband (1985); father; mother; brother Everett; sister-in-law Helen; aunt and uncle Martha and Earl Claude; and nephew Bob McAllister. Bev is survived by brother Willard (Jean) Thorbrogger of Walnut Creek, CA and their children: Karen (David) Tuttle and children Sara and Matthew; Elana (Ken) Sparks and children Chris, Jonathan and Tim; Willard Jr. (Lettie) Thorbrogger; Brian (Anna) Thorbrogger and children Chloe and Thomas; nephew Robert Thorbrogger and children Graham and Elliot; niece Susan Thorbrogger Hardin and daughter Megan; and nephews Terry Pals and Mike Pals.
