Marian A. Riggins, 74, Eldora, died April 20, 2006 at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A graveside service was held April 24 at the Immanuel Reformed Church Cemetery near Belmond, and a memorial service was held April 25 at the Eldora United Methodist Church. Marian was born January 26, 1932 in Belmond, the daughter of Ben and Viola (Mennenga) Loats. She attended Pleasant #5 country school and graduated from Belmond High School in 1950. On November 11, 1950 she married James L. Riggins. Marian had lived in Eldora since 1952 and worked as office manager for Iowa Electric Power and Light for twenty years, retiring in 1986. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband; daughter Catherine (Jeffery) Roberts of Downers Grove, IL; grandchildren Laura and Brian; and brothers Fred Loats of Belmond and Kenneth (Marcy) Loats of Granville, OH.
