Arthur W. Pals, 81, Dows, died December 15, 2006 at his home. Services were held December 19 at the Dows United Methodist Church with Pastor Kalen Fristad officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Dows.

Arthur William, son of John D.L. and Tena (Sandman) Pals, was born June 8, 1925 in Belmond. On February 3, 1951 he married Marjorie Erickson in Phoenix City, Ala. Arthur served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952, farmed for fifteen years, and welded for Hagie and Triggs for 30 years. He moved to his home in Dows in 1972. He enjoyed spending time in Branson and loved having a garden.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister. Arthur is survived by his wife; children Patty (David) Kuper of Brownsburg, IN, Douglas Pals of Dows, Betty (Gary) Peterson of Fort Dodge, and Peggy (Steven) Mac Runnel of Webster City; grandchildren Jason, Nathan, Jodi, Dawn, Jeffery and Matthew; great-granddaughter Ashlyn; siblings Herbert Pals of Belmond, Helen (Edward) Schnittjer of Clarion, Mary Isaacson of Melbourne, and Jerry (Eileen) Pals of Belmond.
