Dennis Aldrich, 65, Rowan, died December 23, 2006 at Rochester, MN. Funeral services were held Wed., Dec. 27 at the United Church of Rowan with Pastor Nancy Hoffmeister officiating. Burial was in the Rowan Cemetery with military rites.

Dennis Roland, son of Roland and Marion (Gram) Aldrich, was born May 29, 1941 near Rowan. He was educated at the school in Rowan. Dennis entered the U.S. Army in 1960 where he served in Viet Nam until his discharge in 1963. Dennis worked in different capacities for a number of years: at Riedel Sales, Dick Whitten's Shop, R.F. Aldrich and Sons Construction, and for Larry and Wilma Aldrich on their farm. Dennis and Marj (Meier) were married in Rowan at her parent's home on August 22, 1973. He worked at Eaton Corporation for twenty years, from 1983 to 2003, until retirement. Dennis was a member of the United Church of Rowan and the Rowan American Legion.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; son Kelly Aaron; mother-in-law and father-in-law Adabelle and Irvin Meier; and brother-in-law Harold Johnston. Dennis is survived by his wife; daughters Denise (Jason) Halfpop of Rowan and Michelle (Chris) Gorman of Belmond; children from a previous marriage - Curtis (Renee) Aldrich, James Aldrich and Vikki Stuart; grandchildren Tristan (his right hand man), Kyle, Michael, Brittany, Nikki, Christopher, Russell, Dylan, Jason and Rikki; brothers Jim (Ruth) Aldrich of Belmond and Curtis (Delores) Aldrich of Plainville, AR; sisters Janet Le'on of Leon, Holly (Steve) Heeren of Alexander and Leilani Johnston of Belmond; brothers-in-law Irv Meier of Wapello, Philippe (Annette) Meier of Boone and Richard (Colleen) of Clarion; sister-in-law Ada (Donnie) Martin of Clarion; and his special godchildren Amanda and April Meier, and Peggy, Krystal and Stephanie Martin.
