Nellie Margaret Pletcher, 89, a lifelong resident of Clarion, died on Saturday, November 25, 2006, at the Wright Medical Center, Clarion. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 29, at the First United Methodist Church, Clarion. Pastor Don Morrison officiated at the 11:00 a.m. service. A private family burial was held.

Nellie Margaret Barker, was born on December 17, 1916 in Clarion, the daughter of Frank and Ora Barker. She was raised and educated in Clarion, graduating from the Clarion High School in 1934. She enjoyed working for three generations of the Sumners family at the Sumners Insurance Agency in Clarion. She was united in marriage to Raymond (Rab) Pletcher on July 6, 1940. They made their home in Florence, Iowa, and after Rab retired, they built a home on Lake Cornelia. Nellie enjoyed her bridge club, UMW Circle, and her coffee klatches. She was always on the go and loved visiting with her friends.

She is survived by one son, John Pletcher and wife, Barbara; and two grandsons. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Rab; two sisters, Leone and Ellen; and five brothers, Emory, Clare, Bill, Guy and Glen.
