Helen Ada Woltjer, 79, of Hampton, died on Thursday, October 19, 2006, at the Franklin General Hospital, Hampton. A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 21, at the Hampton United Methodist Church. Rev. Jerry Miller officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in the Hampton Cemetery.

Helen Ada Christensen, was born on September 11, 1927 at Latimer, the daughter of Jens W. and Edna A. (Oleson) Christensen. She and Fred "Bud" Woltjer were united in marriage on June 23, 1948 at St. Louis, Missouri. Helen was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church.

She is survived by six daughters, Penny Neuwohner of Las Vegas, New Mexico, Jean Hovenga of Hampton, Gwen Spurgeon, Cheryl Bonjour, Esther Lang and Audrey Sharp, all of Hampton; four sons, Dick Woltjer, Vic Woltjer, Wayne Woltjer, all of Hampton and Dean Woltjer of Urbandale; three sisters, Eleanor Tonderum of Dows, Alice Christensen of Belmond and Myrna Patterson of Hudson; three brothers, Volney Christensen of Iowa Falls, Allyn Christensen and Merlyn Christensen, both of Clarion; 27 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; one son, Gordon; one daughter, Susan; and one brother, Lloyd.
