Lorraine N. Tesdahl, 87, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at the Westridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids. She had lived in Cedar Rapids for the past three years after moving from Clarion in November, 2003. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, at the First Lutheran Church in Clarion, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, October 26, from 6-8:00 p.m., at the Ewing, Dugger, Helgeson Funeral Home, Clarion. Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery, immediately following the service.

Lorraine N. Asbe, was born on June 14, 1919 in rural Kanawha, the daughter of Henry and Anna Asbe. She graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in 1936, where she received teacher's normal school training. After high school she taught in one room country schools in Wright County until 1941. Lorraine and Sherman Tesdahl were united in marriage on March 24, 1940 and began farming in Norway Township in Wright County. They remained on the farm until Sherman's death in 1978. In 1980, Lorraine moved to Clarion, but she remained actively involved in farming. She was very fond of teaching children in school and Sunday School. She attended the St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Kanawha, where she was baptized, confirmed, married and where her children were baptized.

Lorraine is survived by two sons, Paul Tesdahl and wife, Kristy of Deerwood, Minnesota and Dave Tesdahl and wife, Sue of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Ray Tesdahl and wife, Joyce. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Howard Asbe.
