July 8, 1965Rites Tuesday For Joseph Gangstead
Funeral services for Joseph Gangstead, 67, Goldfield farmer, were held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at Lake Lutheran church with the Rev. Norman V. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery with the Sandvig Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, in charge. Mr. Gangstead died Friday at Clarion Community Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for about three days. Born and reared at Goldfield, he was a lifetime resident of the area. He was a member of Lake Lutheran Church, a township trustee and a charter member of the Humboldt County Farm Bureau. In 1923 he married Gladys Beisell at Thor. She survives as do four children, James of Dakota City, Norman of Goldfield, Mrs. Carl Hokel of Webster City and Mrs. Eugene Northrup of Stanhope, also 15 grandchildren. Other survivors are one brother and one sister, Arthur of Des Moines and Mrs. Glenn Samuels of Linwood, Calif.
