GOLDFIELD - Patsy Lenning, 68, of Goldfield, passed away Thursday (June 14, 2001) at her home peacefully with her husband and children at her bedside. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Assembly of God Church, 322 S. Commercial in Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Monday, with the family present, at the Assembly of God Church.

Patsy Ruth Lenning was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Margaret Frost. She grew up and attended school in the Mason City area. Patsy was united in marriage to Ed Lenning on Aug. 27, 1949, in Mason City. Patsy was an avid golfer and she and her husband, Ed, were very active in raising and showing bulldogs. Pat and Ed were inducted into the Bulldog Club of America Hall of Fame for producing 14 champion bulldogs. She worked for Kramersmeier Drug for several years before her retirement. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making ceramics, playing cards, reading, crocheting, traveling with her sisters, playing bingo, and spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Edwin, of Goldfield; daughter, Debra Govern and her husband, Ray, of Bancroft; son, David Lenning and his wife, Toni, of Salt Lake City, Utah; son, Charles Lenning and his fiancee, Rita Hemmer, of Goldfield; daughter, Patricia Lenning, of Thornton, daughter, Penny Goates and her husband, Kent, of Thornton; son, Edwin Lenning and special friend, Tricia Krieger, of Clarion; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marge Coburn, of Kingman, Ariz., Evelyn Holman, of Kingman, Ariz., Jean Solum and her husband, Marvin, of Des Moines, Barbara Renberg and her husband, Art, of Henderson, Nev. and Hope Winders and her husband, Roger, of Waterloo; sister-in-law, Fran Frost, of Monticello; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Frost; sister, Jacqueline Connors; brother, John Frost Jr.; sister, Francis Frost; infant sister, Alona Frost; grandson, Cory Goates; and great-granddaughter, Emily Berte. Interment will be at a later date at Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.
