Bernice Margaret Reichter, 83, formerly of Goldfield, died Friday, November 19, 2004 at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services were held Monday, November 22 at the United Methodist Church in Goldfield. Rev. Karen Dearchs officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Bernice Margaret Keen was born March 1, 1921, in rural Humboldt County, the daughter of Martin and Dagny (Andreson) Keen. She was raised around Thor and was baptized and confirmed at the Thor Lutheran Church. Bernice attended country school and graduated from the Renwick High School in 1939. On March 15,1941, Bernice was united in marriage with Wendell R. Reichter at Thor. They farmed the family farm until moving to Goldfield in 1976. Wendell died January 27, 1997. Bernice was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Goldfield, where she also taught Bible School and Sunday School for many years. She belonged to many social clubs and organizations, including the D.O.C. Club and also several bridge clubs, especially enjoying her games of bridge played at the Oakridge Country Club.

Survivors include two sons, David Reichter and wife, Cheryl of Elkader and Dean Reichter and wife. Jackie of Goldfield; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Nelson of Goldfield; one brother, Richard Keen and wife, Bev of Storm Lake; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Mildred Keen of Thor, Wanda Keen of Spencer and Corine Keen of St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
