Neva E. Furuseth

Services for Mrs. Oscar J. (Neva E.) Furuseth, 92, 2180 Roosevelt St., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dubuque Bible Church, 3500 Pennsylvania Ave. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St. She was born on Oct. 25, 1903, in Belmond, Iowa, daughter of John Harvey and Winifred (Crabtree) Coburn. She died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, 1996, at the home of her son, Don (and Nancy) Furuseth, Leisure Lake, rural Bernard, Iowa. She married Oscar J. Furuseth on April 30, 1921, in the Methodist Parsonage, Hampton, Iowa; he died April 17, 1973. She was a longtime member of Dubuque Bible Church.

Surviving are three sons, Dean H. (Margaret) Furuseth, of Lancaster, Wis., Leslie I. (Pat) Furuseth, of Dubuque, and Donald M. (Nancy) Furuseth, of Leisure Lake, rural Bernard; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Shaefer, of Modesto, Calif., Mrs. Jessie Jacobsen, of Colter, Iowa, and Mrs. Willis (Connie) Fergusson, of Pacifica, Calif.; and a brother, William (Lillian) Coburn, of Minneapolis. She was also preceded in death by a son, Owen J. Furuseth in September 1990; a sister, Ardith Crawford; two brothers, Harvey Coburn and Fred Coburn; and one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
