ROWAN MAN DIES IN CHICAGO

Dale Hofsommer, age 33, youngest son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Hofsommer of Dows, Iowa, passed away in Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, June 1st 1960. Dale grew up in Rowan & Dows vicinities and attended school in Dows up to the time that he enlisted in the Merchant Marines during WWI. Following his discharge from the Merchant marines, in February 1946, he was at home with his parents, going to Chicago Heights, Illinois in January 1947, to seek work in the city and has made his home in and near Chicago Heights. Dale was married to Dorothy Luecke of Crete, Illinois on June 25, 1949, and to this union four children were born, who with his wife remain to mourn his death.
