EDNA LARUE LAID TO REST SATURDAY, SEPT. 17

Funeral Services for Mrs. Edna [Edner P.] LaRue were held from the Presbyterian Church, Saturday, September 17 [1949], the Rev. R. A. Brough in charge. Mrs. Corrine Aagesen and Mrs. Luella Jacobson accompanied by Mrs. Flossie Drury, sang favorite selections of the diseased. Pallbearers were T.L. Watt, A.D. Denger, L.E. Oleson, Jess Severe, A.E. Foust and M.J. Durrant. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Edna P. LaRue, wife of J.T. LaRue died at her home Thursday [September 15, 1949], after many months of illness. She was born in Dows, Iowa, Sept. 28, 1882, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Leach. She was married to J.T.* LaRue on March 17, 1909 to which union was born Thelma, Ellery, Russell and Frank. She also mothered Floyd, Hugh, Hazel and Lyle whose mother died when they were small. One son Russell, preceded her in death on June 23, 1944, while on active duty in Saipan. Two sisters and two brothers also preceded her. She leaves to mourn, her husband, J.T.* LaRue; her children, Floyd LaRue of Lemmon, South Dakota; Hugh LaRue of Bradford, Iowa; Mrs. Orvel Bowers (Thelma) of Clarksville, Iowa, Ellery LaRue and Mrs. Gerald Boyington (Hazel), both of Dows, Iowa; also Frank and Lyle still at home. Also eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister and three brothers, Mrs. M.A. (Maude Belle) Carpenter and Harry Leach both of Dows, Iowa; Claud Leach of St. Paul, Minnesota and Monterville Leach of Moorhead, Minnesota. Also a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of the Trident club for years, and a Gold Star mother.
