Wava Kimball Funeral at Backus on Tuesday
Funeral Services for Mrs. Wava (Carpenter) Kimball, 69 were held Tuesday, August 13th (1963), at the Lakeside Baptist Church, Backus. Rev. Lloyd Boomgarden officiated. Mrs. Kimball died at the Masonic Memorial Hospital, Minnesota the proceeding Saturday. Musical selections sung by Mrs. John Staulcup were: “Rock of Ages” and “Beautiful Garden of Prayer” accompanied by Mrs. Boomgarden at the organ. Pallbearers were: Louis Chalick, Lyle Lauer, Clifton Sycks, Ben Rice, Bud Hillyer, and Roy Saxton. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Backus, with Northland Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Wava Carpenter was born March 22, 1894 at Latimer, Iowa of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee Carpenter. She and Her husband Warren Kimball, who preceded her in death in 1950 – have been residents of Backus for 33 years. She is survived by her brother, Walter Carpenter Lockport, IL; Sister, Mrs. Edd Schmidt, Tyler, TX and several nieces and nephews.
