Henry L. Oleson 96, a lifelong Dows area resident, died on Tuesday evening, March 22, at the Manly Care Center at Manly. He had been in the nursing home for the past several months. Funeral services for Mr. Oleson were held on Friday at 2 p.m. from the Willim Funeral Home. The Rev. Judith Cook, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, was the officiant and burial was at Fairview Cemetery.

Born on June 7, 1880, at Dows he was the son of the late Ole L. and Anna Marie Hanson Oleson was raised and educated in the area of his birth. He was united in marriage with Lottie E. Maryhew on Dec. 23, 1903, at Clarion. They farmed for many years and from 1942 until 1970 he operated a dray line. Mr. Oleson is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Deloris) Schmidt of Joice, six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a sister Mrs. Tillie Dilley of Hopkins, Minn., and a brother, Louis F. Oleson of Park Rapids, Minn. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry, a daughter, Margaret Barz, three brothers, six sisters and his wife in 1964.
