Jerry Lynn Stracke, 69, of rural Gower, Mo., passed away, Friday, June 21, 2002 at his home. He was born on March 9, 1933 to Franklin Leroy and Jenny Matilda (Swensen) Stracke in Eagle Grove, Iowa, where he grew up. Jerry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. On June 8, 1958 he was united in marriage to Yvonne Schenck. They resided in Blue Springs, Mo., until moving to Gower in 1978, where they made their home. Jerry retired in 1998 from the Kansas City Power and Light Company with over 30 years of service. Jerry attended both the River of Life Church in Kansas City and New Life Full Gospel in St. Joseph, Mo. Jerry was a member of the American Legion Post #393 in Gower.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Carroll, and two sisters, Evelyn Fuller and Virgene Cullinan. Jerry is survived by his wife, Yvonne, of the home, one daughter, Leah Caldwell, St. Joseph, Mo., son, David Stracke and wife, Lesley, Gower, Mo., grandchildren, Daniel, Vincent Dean, and Brittaney, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 26th at the River of Life Church, 4214 NW Cookingham Rd. Kansas City, Mo. BURIAL: Second Creek Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 A.M. prior to the services at the church. Military Honors will be provided by the 139th Airlift Wing. Donations may be made in Jerry’s name to the Building Fund of either New Life Full Gospel or River of Life Church. Arrangements by Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, Mo.
