Hazel A. Fermenich, 97, of Midway Township died Thursday, June 22, 2000, in Nopeming Nursing Home. She was born in Clarion, Iowa, and lived in Saginaw for many years where she was a housewife and farmed with her husband, Valentine. They moved to Proctor in 1983.She was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Proctor, active in the Warba and Duluth Flower Clubs, taught Sunday school and served as president of 4-H.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Nora Pyle; her husband, Valentine in 1984; and a daughter, Caroline Watters. Hazel is survived by her son, Ellsworth V. (Lorraine) Fermenich of Cloquet; a sister, Clarion (Donald) Haluptzok of Cloquet; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Service 11 a.m. today in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Proctor. Burial in Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors-Bell Brothers Chapel, 601 N. 56th Ave. W.
