Ramon K. Gardner, 97, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2006 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital, McAllen, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Pearl Gardner of Humeston and Goldfield, Iowa; his sister, Doris Evans, of Wichita, Kansas; his only child, Robert Andrew of Boone, Iowa; his first spouse, Beatrice Fullerton Gardner, with whom he spent 46 years; and his stepson, John Kerr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Erma, of the last 29 years, with their time together divided between West Des Moines, Iowa and McAllen, Texas. He is also survived by his stepson and wife, Ronn and Jo Kerr, of Port Orford, Oregon; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many loving friends. His wishes for cremation have been followed and there will be a memorial service Saturday, May 13, 2006, 2 p.m., at McAllen Mobile Park, Hall C, McAllen, Texas. Ramon will be greatly missed but his family and friends are certain that he is in a better place and is at peace. Kreidler Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
