Birdeen G. Larson, 87, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away on Aug. 25, 2001. Birdeen was born Dec. 13, 1913, in Eagle Grove. He attended schools in Orthel Township and Britt. He was united in marriage Oct. 16, 1942, to Marian Demarest in Tacoma, Wash. In January 1944 after being discharged from the Army, Birdeen and Marian moved to Rudd, owning and operating a farm equipment dealership, Larson & Collet Implement Co., for more than 30 years before retiring and moving to Velda Rose Estates in Mesa, Ariz., in 1974. Birdeen served 11 years in various offices and competitions for the Arizona Shuffleboard Association.

Birdeen is survived by three sons, Steve, of Cave Creek, Ariz., Terry, of Phoenix and Ronnie, of Franktown, Colo.; three daughters-in-law, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Helen; his wife, Marian; two brothers, Norris and Leo; one sister, Hazel Hinders; and infant twin brothers. Memorial services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 4930 E. Greenway Road, Scottsdale, Ariz. 85254.
