Vivienne Wright, age 88, of Red Oak, Iowa formerly of Clarion, Iowa passed away Sunday, March 21, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak after an extended illness. Vivienne May Wright was born August 18, 1915 in Berlin, North Dakota the daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth (Guyer) Tollefson. Vivienne graduated from the Eagle Grove High School and was later united in marriage to George Wright on September 20, 1938. After their marriage George served in the military at which time they lived in Port Orchard, Washington before moving back to Iowa. Vivienne and George lived in many towns in Iowa where they managed country clubs and bakeries. These towns include Clarion, Red Oak, Clarinda, and Indianola. Vivienne was a member of the Congregational Church in Clarion. George preceded Vivienne in death on February 7, 2001 at which time she moved to Red Oak to be near her son and grandchildren.

Survivors include her son: Terry Wright and wife Darla of Red Oak, Iowa; 3 grandchildren: Tom Wright of Red Oak, Iowa; Tracy Vannausdle and husband Roger of Red Oak, Iowa; and Holly Brown and husband Brian of Littleton, Colorado. 5 great grandchildren: Eric, Jordan, and Paige Vannausdle of Red Oak, Iowa; and Cori and Eryn Brown of Littleton, Colorado; 2 sisters: Madeline Ashpole of Mason City, Iowa; and Ruby Freeman of Eagle Grove, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 1 PM Thursday, March 25, 2004 at the Willim Funeral Home Chapel in Clarion, Iowa with Rev. Curt Miner officiating. Burial of ashes will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Weight Room Project at the Red Oak Community High School.Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, is in charge of arrangements with the assistance of Willim Funeral Home in Clarion, Iowa.
