Loral L. Paul, 75, 22 Collins St., died at 7:22 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 1998, at The Finley Hospital. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Center Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Dubuque Post 6. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home, 1145 Locust St. Until his retirement, Loral was a meat inspector with the U.S. government. He was born on Dec. 23, 1922, in Thornton, Iowa, son of Carl W. and Eva Catherine (Wickershem) Paul. He married Wilma Worden on Oct. 30, 1946, at Dows, Iowa; she died Jan. 31, 1991. He was a graduate of Thornton High School. He was a World War II Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Honolulu. He was a member of the American Legion Dubuque Post 6, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Camanche (Iowa) Post, and the National Association of Retired Government Workers. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his daughter, Cathy (James) Reed, of Summerfield, Ill.; two sons, Wayne Paul, of Joplin, Mo., and Douglas (Carol) Paul, of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Steven Paul, Summer Paul, Michelle (Craig) Hill, Robert Paul, David Paul and James (Kristen) Paul; his great-grandchildren, Emily Rose, Steven, Jarrod and Dylan; his brother, Royall, of Fenton, Mo.; and his sisters-in-law, Leona Paul, Dorothy Paul and Rosadee Paul. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Iva Mae Puffer, Lucy Webb and Mabel Zieman; and his brothers, Wilfred, Lloyd, Clarence, Ralph, Arlo and Lincoln. A Loral L. Paul Memorial Fund has been established.
