Martha Jean Schar, age 94, of Dallas, Texas and formerly of Clarion, passed away Friday, January 27, 2006, at the Walnut Place Nursing Home in Dallas. Funeral services for Martha Schar will be held on Friday, February 3, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Clarion with Pastor Don Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Martha Jean Taylor Schar, daughter of Chester and Eula Taylor, was born on January 23, 1912 in Lake City. She was a graduate of the Clarion High School. On August 26, 1933, she was united in marriage to James Wendell Schar in Clarion. Martha was a member of the United Methodist Church, PEO and Eastern Star. She was dedicated to the Lord, her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Tom and his wife, Jean of Dallas, Texas; sister, Evalyn DeLoof of Weslaco, Texas; daughter-in-law, Dixie Haney of Emerald Bay, California; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell in 1989; her son, Jim in 1973; and her twin sister, Margaret Myers.
