Harold Wayne Hiams, age 90, of Rowan, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at the Wright Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 30, at the United Church of Rowan. Pastor JoAn Skyrme officiated. Harold Wayne Hiams, son of Bert A. and Alice (Yoeman) Hiams was born on March 10, 1915 on the family farm near Rowan. He was raised and educated in Rowan, graduating from the Rowan High School in 1934. He lived and worked on the family farm his entire life. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed cars and bought a new one regularly. In his later years he enjoyed riding his bike into town and visiting at the post office. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau.

Harold is survived by one brother, Ray Hiams of Rowan; his twin sister, Hazel Lilleskau of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale Hiams; and two sisters, Pearl Howieson and Doris Hardy.
