John C. Waller, 87, of West Liberty, died Thursday, January 12, 2006, at the Lone Tree Care Center following an extended illness. John C. Waller was born October 29, 1918, in Orchardville, Illinois, the son of Sherman and Cora Vaughn Waller. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. On July 3, 1948, he was united in marriage to Eileen Stratton in Wilton. He had worked at HON Industries in Muscatine for many years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Eileen Waller of West Liberty; two daughters, Peggy McElderry and husband, Dan of West Branch and Joyce Stacy and husband, Larry of Stewartville, Minnesota; one son, Darrin Waller and wife, Michelle of Clarion; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Waller of Davenport and Bert Waller of Mendota, Illinois; one sister, June Smith of Ironton, Missouri; two sons by a previous marriage, Gary Walker of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and John Walker of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
