Douglas John Cellan, 53, of Westfield, New York, formerly of Clarion, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at the Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield, New York. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 20, at the United Church of Christ Congregational in Clarion. Pastor Curt Miner officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.

Douglas John Cellan was born on February 1, 1953, in Clarion, the son of John and Darlene (Hill) Cellan. Doug was raised and education in Clarion, being a member of the first class to graduate from the new high school in 1971. He attended Eagle Grove Community College. For several years he worked for the Farmers Co-op in Eagle Grove and then worked for several trucking companies. Doug was united in marriage to Jody Bjornson in 1997 in Eagle Grove. They raised two children and later went their separate ways. Doug was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed riding his Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad, bowling, golfing, basketball, and was an Iowa Hawkeye fan.

He is survived by his fianceé, Maureen DeJohn and her daughter, Joelle DeJohn of Westfield, New York; a daughter, Jaime Bliesmer and husband, Mike of Dunnell, Minnesota; a son, Ryan Cellan of Estherville; mother, Darlene Cellan of Clarion; two sisters, Deb Senger and husband, Mike of Clarion and Dani Kepler and husband, Jim of Boone; one brother, David Cellan of Iowa Falls; aunt and uncle, Norma and Ken Hill of Dows; one granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
