Michael George Ansel, 47, of Dows, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2006, at his home. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 19, at the St. John's Catholic Church, Clarion. Father Chris Podhjsky officiated at the 10:00 a.m. service. Burial was in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Clarion.

Michael George Ansel was born on August 30, 1958, in Elmhurst, Illinois, the son of Raymond and Barbara (Andorf) Ansel. Mike and his family moved to Iowa in 1961. He graduated from the Kanawha High School in 1977. He is survived by a son, Tyler Michael Ansel of Falls City, Nebraska; his parents, Raymond and Barbara Ansel of Clarion; two sisters, Betsy Mraz and husband, Lynn of Clarion and Laurie Schreur and husband, Herbert; two brothers, Joseph Ansel and Mark Ansel and his wife, Meridee; three nieces and seven nephews;Terri Jo Ansel (Tyler's mother); three step-children, Zac, Marissa and Hannah, all of Falls City, Nebraska; and Mike's very special friend, Diane Shores and her children, Eric and Garrett of Dows.
