Donald E. Swisher passed away at his home in Walnut Creek, California, on June 13, 2006, less than a month shy of his 100th birthday. A memorial service was held. Donald E. Swisher was born on July 4, 1906 in Rowan, Iowa. He was raised in Clarion and after finishing high school attended Cornell College and served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was an accountant for over 40 years. He and his wife, Irene raised their family in Gering, Nebraska. They were married for 58 years and had lived in Walnut Creek, California for the past 10 years. Irene passed away in 2004. Don was an active member of the United Methodist Church, the Elks Club, and was a member of the Bank of America International Club. He enjoyed reading and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicki I. Swisher of Madison, Mississippi; and a son, Michael G. Swisher of Perth, Australia.
