Elaine Brinkman, 74, of Clear Lake, formerly of Clarion, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003. Funeral services were held Friday, April 18th at the United Presbyterian Church, Clarion. Rev. Candace Adams and Rev. Jerry Swanberg, officiated at the 1:30 p.m. service. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Elaine Dahlgren was born June 11, 1928, in Wright County the daughter of Carl A. and Eva (Hardy) Dahlgren. She resided in Clarion for most of her life. On May 18, 1946, she and Duane Brinkman were united in marriage at The Little Brown Church in Nashua. She owned and operated D & E Motors for 28 years and she also owned The Travel Connection in Clarion. Elaine had retired to Clear Lake and enjoyed spending time with her family. In recent years she enjoyed traveling to their lake home on Tablerock Lake outside of Branson, Missouri. Elaine is survived by her husband, Duane of Clear Lake; two daughters, Linda Casady and husband, Bill of Marshalltown and Diana Kalkbrenner of Peoria, Illinois; five grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Vi Fisher and husband, Joe of Clarion; one brother, Albert Dahlgren and wife, Mary Jane of Clarion. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Melvin and Carlton; and one sister, Vera Lofton.
