G. Carlton Dahlgren, 86, of Clarion, died Thursday, October 10, 2002 at USA Health Care Center, Clarion. Funeral services were held Monday, October 14 at Holmes Baptist Church. Rev. Pat Odle officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements.

G. Carlton Dahlgren was born May 2, 1916 in Dayton Township the son of Carl A. and Eva Hardy Dahlgren. He attended rural schools in Wright County, graduating from Clarion High School, and went on to Trade School in Chicago to study electronics, and was employed in the aircraft industry in San Diego, California. After World War II he returned home to farm with his parents and brother, Albert. He also was an employee of Cyanamid and Farm Service until his retirement. He continued to live on the farm, enjoying gardening, his many flowers and other hobbies. For the last three years he lived at the Southtown Apartments, moving to USA Health Care Center in July. He was a member of the Holmes Baptist Church. Survivors include his sisters, Viola Fisher and husband, Joe, Elaine Brinkman and husband, Duane; brother, Albert Dahlgren and wife, Mary Jane; six nephews and nine nieces; 29 great nephews and nieces; 15 great great nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends. Carlton was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Verna Lofton; brother, Melvin Dahlgren and nephew, Michael Dahlgren.
