Jeff Paul Steen, 27, of Clarion died Friday, October 11, 2002. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 15th at the United Methodist Church, Clarion. Rev. Pat Odle and Rev. Mike Druhl officiated at the 11 a.m. service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements. Jeff Paul Steen was born July 14, 1975 in Waterloo, the son of David and Kathy Steen. He attended school in Clarion and Eagle Grove, graduating in 1994. He then attended college in Fort Dodge. Jeff was involved with the Special Olympics as a competitor, winning many awards and medals at the Games. He continued to be involved with the Special Olympics even after he was no longer a competitor. Jeff loved sports, especially basketball which could be witnessed by everyone as he always had a basketball tucked under his arm or was sharing his wisdom on the basketball court in the park. Jeff was employed at Clarion Super Foods where he really enjoyed his work and the people he worked with, often times showing up at the store to see if they needed any help even on his days off. Jeff was also a member of Unlimited Opportunities and the Clarion United Methodist Church.

Jeff is survived by his mother, Kathy of Clarion; father, David; special friend, Donna Turner; grandmothers, Ruth Sheehan of Clarion and Virginia Steen and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by grandfathers; Paul Sheehan and Richard Steen; cousin, Amanda Sheehan; and aunt, Linda Sheehan.
