Irma Maxheimer, 70, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, September 28, 2002 at Oakview Care Center, Conrad. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 2nd at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Pastor Bobby Shomo of Center Street Baptist Church officiated at the 1:30 p.m. service. Interment followed in Vienna Cemetery, Beaman. A memorial fund has been established to Iowa River Hospice. Irma Maxheimer was born May 30, 1932 in Wright County, the daughter of Elmer and Isel (Mechem) Maxheimer. Raised in rural Clarion, she was a graduate of Clarion High School. She lived on a farm in Wright County prior to moving to Marshalltown in 1952. She was a purchasing clerk for Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center prior to her retirement in 1996.

She is survived by one sister, June (Mrs. Everette) Sams of Whitten; two brothers, Paul Maxheimer and wife, Naomi and Lee Maxheimer, all of Clarion; one sister-in-law, Ruth Matson of Ames; four nephews, five nieces and special friends, Lee and Jean Garrett and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Bob Maxheimer and Randall Matson.
