Mary Charlotte Jenkins, 87, of Sibley, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2002 at the Sibley Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services were held Monday, September 9th, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Sibley. Rev. Paul Frederiksen officiated. Burial was in the Clarion Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Roger Kallem officiated at the burial. Andringa Funeral Home of Sibley was in charge of arrangements. Mary Charlotte Pepper was born, August 5, 1915, in Dows, the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Baily) Pepper. She attended the Dows School and graduated from Dows High School. Charlotte and Richard Philip Jenkins of LeMars, were united in marriage April 20, 1940, in Clarion. They lived in Clarion where Charlotte took care of her children and worked at the Cafe. In 1949, she and Richard moved to Sibley. When Richard became ill, Charlotte worked at Campbell's Soup Company in Worthington, Minnesota for 14 years until she retired in 1980. Richard passed away on December 23, 1998. Charlotte was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sibley. She was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America, and was a Girl Scout leader in Sibley for many years.

Charlotte is survived by a son, Richard Jenkins and wife, Noreen of Garner; one daughter, Phyllis Jenkins of Sibley; and one sister, Viola Simpson of Iowa Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard.
