Clara Klehm, 90, of Clarion, died Sunday, November 4, 2001, at the USA Health Care Center, Clarion. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 7 at the United Methodist Church, Clarion. Rev. LaVonne Kaasa officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements. Clara (Ostendorf) Klehm was born October 29, 1911, in Franklin County, the second of six children born to Otto and Katie (Blau) Ostendorf. Clara attended country school until the 9th grade when she quit and began working to help support her family. Clara and Ray Klehm were united in marriage, February 14, 1940 in Alexander. They were the parents of two children, Jerilyn and Marlin. Ray and Clara farmed in the Latimer area until 1959 when they moved to Clarion. They continued to farm near Clarion until Ray's death in 1963. Clara and the children then moved into town and she worked at various places. She eventually was a cook at the Clarion Community School until she retired in 1976. Clara moved into the Belmond Apartment Complex in 1982 and then to the Southtown Apartments in Clarion in May 1998. In May of 1999 she entered USA Health Care Center in Clarion. She resided there until the time of her death.

Clara is survived by one daughter, Jerilyn of Humble, Texas; one son, Marlin and wife, Linda of Clarion; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Lydia Baker and husband, Harold of Belmond; one brother, Harry Ostendorf of OshkKosh, Wisconsin; and one sister-in-law, Betty Ostendorf of Alexander. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Frank and John Ostendorf; and one sister, Jeanette Olinger.
