Ellen Kirstein Cecilia Jung, 88, of Clarion, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2001, at USA Healthcare Center in Clarion.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 9th at the First Lutheran Church, Clarion. Interim Pastor Paul Stone officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements.
Ellen Kirstein Cecilia Landgren was born October 10, 1913 in Mason City, the daughter of Nels and Elin Landgren. She attended school in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School. In 1934, Ellen and Harold Dutch Jung were married in Mason City. The couple made their home in Mason City until moving to Minneapolis during World War II (1942) where Ellen was a homemaker. They later moved to Charles City for a short time before coming to Clarion in 1950. Ellen and Dutch owned and operated the Davis Paint Store in Clarion for 25 years before retiring in 1975. She moved into the Clarion Care Center in 2000. Ellen was a member of First Lutheran Church, Alter Guild, and Agenda Club. Ellen is survived by her daughter, Judy Sheffield and husband, Tom of Boyden; three grandsons; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Esther Wickre of Livermore. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dutch in 1997; and one brother, Henry.© Wright County Monitor 2001
