Died: February 24, 2016

Glen Herman Wilde, age 74, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Hospice of North Iowa–Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 29, 2016, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton with Pastor Solveig A.H. Zamzow officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Grafton Cemetery.

Glen was born May 11, 1941, on the family farm near Grafton, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Leola (Ingersoll) Wilde. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Glen attended school through the eighth grade. He was very mechanically inclined and learned many of his skills through self-teaching. Glen worked for the Nack family for many years.

He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Grafton. Glen loved fishing, farming, and tinkering with anything that needed to be fixed. He loved his family and animals, especially horses, as he trained riding and driving horses for most of his life. He also had a passion for old farming equipment, especially Oliver tractors.

Glen is survived by his daughter, Marsha (Mike) Pettey of Grafton; his daughter, Coralie (Paul) Krebsbach of Stacyville and their children, John (Karen) Krebsbach and son, Peter of St. Ansgar, and Katherine “Kit” Krebsbach of Stacyville; his son, Arthur Moore of Grafton; his daughter, Crystal Wilde of Grafton; brothers and sisters, Doris (Curtis) Clifford of Nora Springs, Violet Duren of St. Ansgar, Gladys (Marshall) Bearbower of Lanesboro, Minnesota, Janet Juenger of St. Ansgar, Garry Wilde of Osage, Jerry Wilde of Dorchester, and Betty (David) Warrington of Urbana; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Becky Caster of Nashua.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Wendy Kay Wilde; and brothers-in-law, Joe Duren and Ronald Juenger.
