Bertha "Betsey" Sage was born November 1, 1854 (cemetery lists 1855) at Dane, Wisconsin to Johannes Hansson Sage and Barbro Helgesdatter.

Her family moved to Iowa.

She married Gunder Knudsen Erikson 1882 in Iowa.

The couple had 6 children: Liv, Clara, Bertha, John, George, Charles (Carl).

Bertha Erickson died November 11, 1945 at Freeborn, Minnesota. She was buried at Silver Lake Cemetery, Worth, Iowa.
