Arthur Merl Saltou was born August 24, 1909 at Reinbeck, Grundy, Iowa to Peter Henry Saltou and Hattie Thompson.

Found in the 1920 census living at Black Hawk, Grundy, Iowa: Henry Saltou 47, Hattie Saltou 35, Wesley Saltou 18, Bertie Saltou 16, Ray Saltou 12, Arthur Saltou 10, Ethel Saltou 6.

Found in the 1925 census at Kensett, Worth, Iowa: Fred W Keller 25, Mrs Fred W Keller 37, Ray Salton (should be Saltou) 17, Arthur Salton 15, Ethel Salton 11.

Arthur married Ethel Marie Hanson on August 27, 1933 at Iowa. The couple had 5 daughters.

He served in the US Navy in the mid-1940's.

Art Saltou died on April 22, 1990 at the Veteran's Hospital, Des Moines, Polk, Iowa. He was buried at the Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Worth, Iowa.
