Ellis Leroy "Bud" Schaub, 90, of rural Kensett, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014, at the Manly Nursing and Rehab Center.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, November 7th at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, with Pastor Solveig A.H. Zamzow officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.

Bud was born August 6, 1924, to Roy and Gertrude (Brueswitz) Schaub. He attended school in Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School in 1943. Bud was a lifelong resident of the Grafton Community and a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran church. His baptism, confirmation, wedding and funeral were held at his church, Emmanuel Lutheran, Grafton.

On August 24, 1947, bud was united in marriage to Edna Walk. They were married 63 years. Edna passed away in 2010. They were blessed with 3 sons, Lynn, Curt and Jay.

Bud enjoyed people and the friendships formed. He was a farmer, sold Funk's Seed Corn for 40 years, enjoyed horses and trail riding, and was on the church council and elevator board, volunteered for community activities. He was also a crop adjustor and a 4-H leader. He enjoyed working with leather so he opened Schaub's Saddle Shop. Bud was honored in 2007 by being inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame for his 20 years as a leader of the Golden Banner Boys 4-H Club. Spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren made him happy.

Bud is survived by: his three sons, Lynn (Sharon) Schaub, Curt (Julie) Schaub, Jay Schaub; grandchildren, Eric (Angie) Schaub, Brent (Nina) Schaub, Michael (Liz) Schaub; step grandchildren, Tyler (Kelly) Jansen, Tony (Kizzy) Jansen, Sara (Chris) Sischer; great-grandchildren, Alex, Zac, Oliver and Gemma Schaub, step-great-grandchildren, Elijah, Gabrielle and Jordan Jansen; two nieces and one nephew.

Bub was preceded in death by this wife, Edna, parents, Roy and Gertie Schaub and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clarence and Ethel Walk.
