GRAFTON, IOWA - Rita Jane (Eilertson) Rosenberg, 66, of rural Grafton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at her home, as a result of a heart attack.

A funeral service for Rita will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Faith Lutheran Church in London, Minnesota, with the Rev. Kent Otterman officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. S., Northwood. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the church.

Rita Jane (Eilertson) Rosenberg was born on Nov. 15, 1948, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, the daughter of Leslie and Irene (Godfrey) Eilertson. Rita was baptized and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through confirmation at the Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church, rural Glenville, Minnesota. Rita attended Northwood-Kensett Community Schools, graduating from Northwood-Kensett High School class of 1967. She was united in marriage to Jim Rosenberg on Jan. 22, 1971, at the Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church and had been married for 45 years. To this marriage three children were born, Lisa, Stephanie, and Travis.

Rita worked for AC Neilson’s in Mason City, Farm Bureau as a receptionist in Northwood, and farmed with her husband Jim, their entire marriage in the rural Grafton area. Rita loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved to help with the day-to-day activities and was a true farm wife.

Rita was a compassionate and loving person who was willing to help her family and others whenever it was needed.

Rita enjoyed traveling, classic car cruises, motorcycling, baking, genealogy, sewing, gardening, and taking photos.

Rita’s greatest treasure was her grandchildren whom she loved to spend time with. Everyone who knew her had heard stories of them and seen her brag book pictures.

Rita’s faith was an important part of her life, and she was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, her church circle, teaching vacation bible school, and was past Sunday school teacher.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Jim Rosenberg of rural Grafton; three children, Lisa (Andrew) Buechele of Northwood, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Beland of Kensett, and Travis (Lindsay) Rosenberg of St. Ansgar; her grandchildren, Hayley, Dylan, and Briar Buechele of Northwood, Jadyn and Aspen Beland of Kensett, and Addison and Savanah Rosenberg of St. Ansgar; her sisters and brother, Ilene (Roger) Jaycox of Backus, Minnesota, Janet Bergo of Lake Mills, Marlys (Byron) Wood of Grimes, Iowa, and David (Sue) Eilertson of Backus, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Patricia Rosenberg of Waterloo; brother-and sister-in-law, Marlin (Connie) Rosenberg of St. Ansgar; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members and many close friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Irene (Godfrey) Eilertson; her mother and father-in-law, Elmer and Pearl (Kuntz) Rosenberg; granddaughter, Jasmine Beland; brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Barb Eilertson; brother-in-law, Jerry Bergo; niece, Jeanette (Eilertson) Zipse; and a nephew, Robert Eilertson.
