Arthur D. Hennigar, the son of Elwood and Olga (Hanson) Hennigar, was born February 3, 1942, in Richfield, Minnesota. He attended school in Plymouth. He married Shirley Aguilera in October 1962 and together they had three children. They were married for 31 years. He worked for many years as a farmhand around the North Iowa area before working at Winnebago Industries, Inc. in Forest City. He retired from Winnebago after working there for 39 years.

Art was passionate about many things. He was always eager to visit with his family and friends and loved sharing stories with them. He had much advice about gardening, growing plants, canning and could be considered an expert at each. In addition, he loved collecting guns, shooting trap, and teaching his kids and grandkids how to shoot.

He was a great hunter and trapper and passed that down to his kids and grandkids as well. He liked working on cars and admired Corvettes. He was a horseman and loved to ride horses in his younger years. In recent years, he kept busy making yard art, crafts, and jewelry. In his downtime, you could find him watching WWE Wrestling and Westerns. Art was rarely without a pet; however, he had a special place in his heart for his Doberman Pincher named Sarge.

Art has been described as a funny, sometimes sarcastic, caring, loving man. Many will miss his kisses and laughs, his conversation and stories, his "pet names" for his friends and family; he will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

Arthur is survived by his Doberman, Sarge; children, Teresa Hennigar of Hayfield, Roger (Tracy) Hennigar of Hanlontown and Ramona (Sheldon) Torkelson of Kasson, Minnesota; nine grandchildren, Tara (Jeff) Hennigar, Stephan (Erin) Schwartz, Sable (Michael) Schwartz, Danielle (Dan) Dirksen, Justin/Bubba (Sam) Hennigar, Samantha (Dylan) Hennigar, Daniel Hennigar, Hannah (Bryan) Lunning and Olivia Torkelson; eleven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Eliot, Adrien, Westen, Scout, Dawson, Delayne, Daphne, Ronnie, Kas and Brently; three sisters, Carol (Larry) Dalluge of Grafton, Annette McKinney of Sheffield and Nancy Hennigar of Manly; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; siblings, Cliff Hennigar and Patty Schwartz; and nephew Chris Hennigar.

Arrangements are with Cataldo Schott Funeral Home.
